Tui Na Brisbane studio

A key way of helping you relax, rest and heal

Soothe Acupuncture and Tui Na Bodywork conveniently services people in the Brisbane south region, particularly the suburbs of Tarragindi, Coorparoo, Annerley, Greenslopes, Camp Hill, Stones Corner and Mount Gravatt East.

Tui Na bodywork is the musculoskeletal/myofascial therapy that has stood the test of time.

Despite being more than 2,000 years old, it remains an important part of today’s Chinese hospital system.

In China, Tui Na is practised by medically trained doctors.

And our Tui Na Brisbane bodyworker, Adrian Jackson, was trained by them – in China.

Tui Na treats the whole person, so it’s used for body aches and pains plus other conditions that you might not think appropriate, such as digestive problems and insomnia.

What does Tui Na mean?

Literally, Tui means push and Na means grasp.

Soothe’s Tui Na Brisbane therapist has 10+ years of experience

Adrian Jackson is the Tui Na bodyworker practising at Soothe in Brisbane.

While he sees many people for a ‘general’ massage, he focuses on getting into tight spots to relieve pain and muscular tension.

Adrian’s unique bodywork skills, combined with his ‘sixth sense’ to find the areas of your body that need attention, makes him in high demand.

He operates exclusively from our clinic in Holland Park, allowing him to conveniently support people living nearby in Coorparoo, Greenslopes, Stones Corner, Tarragindi, Annerley, Camp Hill and Mount Gravatt East.

Because he is a member of the Australian Natural Therapists’ Association, Adrian can offer you health fund rebates.

Here’s what you can expect in a Tui Na session at Soothe

At Soothe’s Tui Na Brisbane clinic, our therapist uses his fingers, hands and elbows to apply pressure to specific locations on the body.

Pressure is applied rhythmically to re-establish a balanced flow of Qi throughout the body and bring it back to balance.

He applies pressure to acupuncture meridians and points, and muscles and nerves to work deeply.

Tui Na’s massage style resembles western massage approaches: there’s kneading, rubbing, tapping, gliding, pressing, shaking and rolling.

But it feels different and you may also get to feel the benefits of things like cupping, herbal compresses, liniments and ointments – it all depends on what is best for you at the time of your session.

Tui Na can offer you these benefits

A typical session at our Tui Na Brisbane studio lasts between 30 to 60 minutes. It depends on your needs and your condition.

You may remain clothed if you are wearing loose, comfortable clothing.

One of the great things about Tui Na is that it helps you relax and energise.

Also, it addresses specific problems, no matter if they are acute or chronic, or associated with the muscles, joints or skeletal system.

It can quickly reduce neck pain, hip pain, low back pain, arm pain, wrist pain, foot pain, ankle pain and knee pain.

It’s ideal for arthritis, muscle tension and sciatica too.

Hear from our clients

“My first 5 star review is very deserved. I started going to Soothe a couple of months ago for a sore neck and after the wonderful job Adrian did, I have been back nearly every fortnight since.

“Recently I broke my foot, yes I know this has lead me to spending too much time yelping about the various places that have helped me towards my recovery, but I have to shout out to the world about what a fantastic job Adrian has done massaging my leg and foot to help it heal better.

“I can honestly say that I leave Soothe, feeling so much better. So if you haven’t tried them – then please do. Best part is that my health insurance covers a large chunk so it’s not as dear as I thought it would be.”

Triple win. 🙂

Max, Brisbane

“The staff are friendly, professional, talented and passionate about their work.

“I have severe back problems and after only 1 Tui Na Bodywork treatment I can touch my toes again which I haven’t been able to do for 2 years.

“Can’t wait to go back.”
